From Mrs. Lee and Mrs. Jones: Congratulations to The Class Winners of Week 3!! Dylan Kiskis with 406 questions, Alissa Eagan 240 questions and Shelby Ritchie with 82 questions. Overall, all 3 classes increased their participation to where they answered 2,840 questions combined! Great job to all the Great Math Challenge participants! The national average for questions answered was only 408 so our kids just blew other schools away with independent practice! #KnowOurWhy

Regarding the Jones/Lee Math Challenge - Congrats to all students, the classes moved a combined 85 levels on Front Row and Alex Judson topped all winners moving himself 31 levels by answering 760 questions and spending 876 minutes on improving his math skills! Job well done Alex and all!!
Info from Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Lee: Students in Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Lee's math classes are encouraged to participate in the Great Front Row Challenge (February 15-March 2)! Students practice in three areas and those that move up the most levels will be rewarded with homework passes for Friday Reviews and possibly dropping their lowest score on a Review Quiz. Information is available on your student's Google Classroom. Is your child taking advantage of this awesome opportunity to be a more successful math student? :)

The Great Kindness Challenge is being celebrated next week! The daily themes are attached and we hope many kids will participate. In conjunction with this, MMS Student Council is conducting a DOLLAR DRIVE for Pediatric Cancer. All money collected will go to Running4Life, a local organization who supports our young warriors fighting this beast. Kids are encouraged to send in dollar bills to their first period teacher all next week. Thank you for your support!

Singing our National Anthem at homecoming this Saturday, October 28, is 14 year old Daytayviah Rodgers, daughter of 1997 Urbana University Alum, Shannon Rodgers. Daytayviah is known by her friends at Mechanicsburg Middle School as “Day”, which is where she attends the 8th grade. Day is actively involved in her school, participating in volleyball, softball, basketball, and pitches for the Heart of Ohio Shockers Softball Travel Team. She has been singing at her church the past 12 years. Day, and her mother Shannon, reside in Cable, Ohio. #UUHomecoming2017
